And now… for our next release, Randall Flurgenbach’s Strange Space Chalet, appropriately named for the magical recording of wonderment that it is. Randall, a figment of partial imagination and part corporeal madness has, on occasion, brought to fruition unreal and often painful manifestations. But one of many recurring incarnations from the bizarre minds of brothers Drew Pompa and Pipé Scuttleworth, Randall’s vital essences seep from every rich tone of The Seige’s first EP, an album arising from the depths of their dark and compelling collective consciousness.

Four tracks comprise the EP. The first, “Beyond Death Is the Vast Ocean Of Nothingness,” is simply a sludgy bass recapitulation of the brothers’ shared sentiment that life is merely a muted, lengthy, film noir in which we watch the world eat us bit by bit, too drugged on media, prescriptions, and the booze to care enough to do anything about it. Next is “Sunrise (The Gates Of Hades Remix),” demonstrating the airiness of dark. It is a pleasant journey, via washy waves of reverberating beats and plucked guitars, to the unpleasant gates of hell.

The B-side includes “Politicizing the Plight Of the People,” a rhythmic, funky tribute to the toppling of despotic regimes that really gets you moving. Finally, the B-side’s second track, “AV Is Set, All Systems Online,” simply asks if being the world’s superpower holds any intrinsic meaning when Americans are starving and national high school graduation rates hover at a whopping 50%. In all, these four works present a fair distillation of how these lads channel the frustrations of generations into a creative outlet.

The time is now ripe for The Siege to present Randall Flurgenbach’s Strange Space Chalet. This EP is merely the first stage of a creative output that is the culmination of many years of quiet toiling on respective musical and artistic endeavors. We truly hope and believe that you will love it as much as they do.
